History

Colombo Catholic Bookshop was envisaged by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith as one stop shop for the Catholic faithful to purchase Catholic scholarly and devotional literature, items pertaining to Sacred Liturgy (vestments, sacred vessels), religious articles utilized for popular religiosity (rosaries, statues, medals, chains, pictures of saints, prayer cards, etc;), greeting cards, Catholic movies and music, etc; This vision was brought to reality during the directorship of Rev. Fr. Mahendra Gunatillake. CCB was ceremoniously declared open for the public on 04th August, 2014 by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, Archbishop of Colombo. CCB was established in collaboration with the Colombo Catholic Press.

 

Vision

To become the most preferred Sri Lankan Catholic bookshop that supports the constant spiritual renewal of the Catholic Church and Faithful.

 

Mission

The mission of CCB is to promote knowledge and practice of the Catholic Faith among the Catholics and Christians. CCB also desires to be a medium of evangelization to the other Faiths with the products and services provided by CCB.
